Privacy policy

CryptoReel is a site you read. You cannot open an account, post a comment, fill in a form or pay for anything here, so it handles very little personal data. This page sets out what that little is: the hosting server's logs, an email if you choose to write, one request the home page makes for live coin prices, and what happens when you click through to a casino.

What data the site handles

  • 4kinds of data, listed above
  • 1of them leaves this site: the price request
  • 0sold, shared or added to a list
  1. Server logs. When your browser asks for a page, the server that hosts cryptoreel.net records technical details: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page if any, and the type of browser. The host keeps these logs to run the site and to stop abuse, for the period its own policy sets. CryptoReel reads them only to find faults.
  2. Email. If you write to post@cryptoreel.net, the mailbox receives your address and whatever you put in the message. They are used to reply and to deal with what you raised, and kept as long as that takes and for the records a correction needs. They are never added to a list or passed on.
  3. The search index. The header's search box fetches a small file, search-index.json, from this site. The request stays on this site, and what you type is matched in your own browser; it is not sent anywhere.
  4. A price request, on the home page only. The home page asks CoinGecko's public price API, at api.coingecko.com, for the current prices of Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, BNB and Toncoin, so the figures on that page are live. The request goes from your browser to CoinGecko, which can see your IP address and browser type under its own privacy policy; CryptoReel sends it no identifier and receives nothing but the prices. Every other page uses a fixed rate, dated in the footer, and makes no such request.

Third parties: hosting, CoinGecko, the casinos

The hosting provider stores the site’s files and keeps the server logs, like any other host. CryptoReel loads its fonts, icons, scripts and images from its own domain, so no font service, tag manager, analytics or advertising network gets a request from these pages.

CoinGecko gets the price request from the home page, as described above. The page functions without it: if the request gets blocked or fails, the home page shows the older rate from the footer.

The casinos. A button for a casino on this site points to an address on this site, /go/ followed by the name of the casino, which forwards you to the casino’s tracking link. From then on you are at the casino, and under the casino’s privacy policy, where the casino can set cookies and see that you are coming from CryptoReel. CryptoReel gets information only in an aggregate form from the casino’s affiliate program, and never gets your name, email or wallet address. The affiliate disclosure explains these links.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no cookies, first-party or third-party, and uses no local storage. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Your browser may keep the site's pages, fonts and images in its own cache so they load faster; that is the browser's doing, under your control, and it sends nothing to CryptoReel.

The cookie policy says the same thing, and what changes when you click through to a casino.

Your rights

CryptoReel is based in the European Union, therefore the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the data they process. You are entitled to know what data they store about you, if anything, beyond a server log which the service provider may keep; you can also make a request to them to correct or remove data from their server and object to them processing your data. You can send your request to post@cryptoreel.net and they will respond to you within one month.

You can also, in case you believe the data processing on CryptoReel violates data protection laws, lodge a complaint to the data protection authority of the country where you reside. You may also do this in addition to sending an email to the mailbox above. The Terms of Use cover all aspects of your use of the site.

Changes to this policy

This policy describes the site as built: no accounts, no forms, no cookies, no analytics, one price request on the home page. If any of that changes, this page changes first and its date moves. The date at the top is the date of the last change.
